COVER STORY: JANE FONDA
The original queen of reinvention, Jane Fonda’s life is nothing short of fascinating. At 77, she’s in the limelight again with hit show Grace and Frankie. Fonda chats to MiNDFOOD about her thoughts on mortality and how finding love in her 70’s has given her a happiness she never expected to feel.
COMMUNITY: ORPHANS INC.
Adding an element of altruism to your holiday can seem like a great idea – you’re helping those in need and creating meaningful memories for yourself at the same time. But not all volunteer experiences, especially when working with orphans, are created equal.
WELLBEING: IS YOUR DESK JOB BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH?
In today’s modern world, the majority of nine-to-five workers spend their days dutifully sitting at their desks, often hunched over a computer. Eating lunch on the job is now a norm for many. Experts are warning that this sedentary way of working could be putting us at increased risk of heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
SMART EATING: MOOD BOOSTERS
Depression is marked by despondency, sleep disturbance and poor self-esteem. In many cases, making changes to your diet and lifestyle can help beat the blues.
PSYCHOLOGY: DEEPENING DEPENDENCE
Dependence is often seen as a dirty word, associated with the “needy” and the emotionally unstable. But looking in to what really helps people become happy, successful and, importantly, independent, we may in fact need to turn to our partners.
