Hugh Jackman and his wife, Deborra-lee, are gracefully ending their marriage.

In an exclusive statement shared with PEOPLE, the couple expressed, “We have been fortunate to enjoy nearly three decades together as a loving and wonderful husband and wife. Our journey is now taking a different path, and we have chosen to separate in pursuit of our individual growth.”

They emphasised, “Our family has always been, and will remain, our utmost priority. As we embark on this new chapter, we do so with gratitude, love, and kindness. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and respect for our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all our lives.”

The statement, jointly signed as “Deb and Hugh Jackman,” concludes with the firm declaration: “This is the only statement either of us will issue.”

The Australian couple, parents to two children, Oscar (23) and Ava (18), had been married for 27 years after meeting in 1995.
