Harvey Weinstein reportedly tests positive for coronavirus
Disgraced movie mogul and convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

The 68-year-old is in isolation at Wende Correctional Facility in Western New York.

According to The Daily Mail, Weinstein reportedly told prison staff he believed he had the virus when he entered the state prison system last Wednesday from Rikers Island jail, where a number of inmates have the virus.

The Niagara Gazette, a local newspaper in Albany, New York, reports officials connected to the state prison system have confirmed Weinstein has the coronavirus.

The officials said he is one of two Wende inmates who have tested positive.

Weinstein’s spokesperson told Variety he did not have information regarding Weinstein testing positive for COVID-19.

At least 38 people have tested positive for coronavirus at the Rikers Island complex and nearby facilities, with more than half of them incarcerated men.

Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence after being found guilty of committing a first-degree criminal sexual act against a production assistant and of the third-degree rape of an aspiring actress.
