The innovative team behind Giapo’s R&D kitchen has created the “Hot Cross Bun Cone” just in time for Easter. This tasty treat is part cone, part traditional bun, with the bun served warm and sliced in half to fit perfectly around the top of a waffle cone.
The bottom half is filled with ice cream of your choosing – we recommend the NZ Hokey Pokey or vegan Coconut Choc Chip – before the lid of the bun is placed on top.
The bun is made with raisins that have been soaked in orange juice to stay nice and moist after baking, and the spices are a delicious blend of cinnamon, cloves and mixed spice. Topping it off is the unmistakable aroma of candied orange peel.
