Jersey Boys

If you’re into music or theatre in any way, Jersey Boys will be a winner for you.

Telling the true-life story and the rise to stardom of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons who were one of the most successful bands in pop music history, Jersey Boys is a show you can’t miss. Watch the show and hear all sorts of famous classics, like Can’t Take My Eyes off You, Walk Like a Man, Bye Bye Baby, Sherry and Big Girls Don’t Cry.

EVITA

With more than 20 major awards to its credit, the original Broadway and West End production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical EVITA opens in September, directed by legendary Broadway director Hal Prince and starring Tina Arena.  Telling the story of Eva Peron, wife of Argentine dictator Juan Peron, EVITA details her humble beginnings through to the extraordinary wealth, power and status which ultimately led her to be heralded as the ‘spiritual leader of the nation’ by the Argentine people. This show promises to be the theatrical event of the year, featuring some of the best-loved songs in musical theatre, including Don’t Cry For Me Argentina, On This Night of a Thousand Stars and Another Suitcase in Another Hall.

When: Showing at The Sydney Opera House 13 September 2018 – 3 November 2018

Bledisloe Cup

Whether you’re a huge rugby fan or just keen to get amongst the action, The Bledisloe Cup Festival offers everyone a unique experience. The opportunity to celebrate one of the greatest rivalries in world sport, the Qantas Wallabies versus the New Zealand All Blacks is not one you should pass up.

When: Qantas Wallabies v All Blacks on Saturday 18 August, Sydney Olympic Park.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Discover the world of Willy Wonka with Roald Dahl’s delicious tale, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It’s a delectable treat featuring songs from the original film, including Pure Imagination, The Candy Man and I’ve Got a Golden Ticket, alongside a brand new, toe-tapping and ear-tickling new score.

Living proof that Sydney is the ultimate food destination, it has just been revealed that New South Wales has come out on top at the 2018 Australia’s Top Restaurants Awards, taking the majority of the Top 10 and Top 100 awards as well as Australia’s Top Chef.

There’s no excuse not to visit a few of the coveted restaurants, so we’ve selected a few of our favourites.

Ester

Ester is ranked as the second best restaurant in Australia for a good reason. Serving small plates that are big on flavour, the food is so good you’ll want to dine there every meal. Think charred meat, fermented vegetables and delicious homemade bread.

Saint Peter

Saint Peter is a fish eatery, it’s mission being to showcase Australian sustainably sourced seafood, prepare it expertly and serve it simply. Their attention to detail in all things fish flows down into everything they do; from their vegetable preparations to their exquisite tarts for dessert and their Australian wine list. Eat there and you’ll understand why Saint Peter is ranked #3 in Australia.

Momofuku Seiobo

Momofuku Seiobo’s chef, Paul Carmichael, does David Chang‘s restaurant group proud, his Caribbean heritage front and centre in dishes. The restaurant also serves a bounty of Australian ingredients. For jerked chicken, Puerto Rican-style sofrito and many other delicious mouthfuls, head to Momofuku Seiobo. There you will find a taste extravaganza that no diner in Sydney should miss out on.
