Since launching their Recycle initiative in June, Deadly Ponies have been collecting pre-loved pieces from customers to repurpose and recycle in an effort to move towards a fully circular model.
Deadly Ponies inaugural Recycle collection – which is available to pre-order online now – is the brand’s first circular collection. The collection features four limited-edition pieces that have been handcrafted from 100 per cent recycled leather, silk and solid brass.
A silk eye mask, leather sunglasses case, leather coaster set and custom-designed brass hand, crafted in collaboration with local artist Hannah Valentine, make up the covetable collection.
In addition to the launch of the collection, Deadly Ponies will donate 10 per cent of profits to their 2020 partner, Dress for Success New Zealand. Dress for Success helps empower women to experience financial freedom and re-enter the workforce.
“Partnering with Dress For Success felt like the perfect alignment for us,” says Deadly Ponies CEO, Steven Boyd. “When starting out with the initial concept for the Recycle Initiative, we always knew that we wanted this collection to support our community – beyond closing the product loop. ”
As well as donating 10 per cent of the proceeds to Dress for Success, Deadly Ponies will also donate any pre-loved bags that are usable, but not able to be recycled, to the organisation.
The limited-edition collection is available exclusively online for pre-order now, with the capsule available in Deadly Ponies stores from early September.
