Silversea Cruises offers the largest selection of extended voyages in ultra-luxury cruising. The world cruise for 2026 is the most diverse and immersive voyage in the cruise line’s history.

Each year, Silversea’s epic 140-day world cruise carries a theme that shapes the journey. For 2026, “The Curious and the Sea” theme relates to the history-making expeditions of explorers as they sought to map uncharted territory. Beginning in Fort Lauderdale, the voyage crosses oceans, visits treasure islands and explores new and old towns before the cruise culminates in Portugal, the homeland of many famous explorers like Vasco da Gama and Ferdinand Magellan.

Channelling the same spirit of discovery that has driven exploration throughout the ages, bespoke events ashore, onboard activities, regionally inspired culinary experiences, three optional overland tours and more will enrich the voyage, revealing the rich colours of land and sea. Guests will follow ancient trade routes, sailing the waters that connected the Silk Road, and transiting the Panama and Suez canals; they will step foot on some of the world’s most remote islands, including those in the South Pacific, a region explored by Captain James Cook in the 18th century; and they will witness lands that inspired scientific progression, such as Western Australia, which attracted Charles Darwin in 1836.

The voyage visits more than six dozen destinations including ports of call in 37 countries and six continents.  After departing Fort Lauderdale on January 6, 2026, the world cruise will see guests journey through Central America visiting Costa Rica and Quintana Roo, before transiting the Panama Canal to the west coast of South America. Easter Island, French Polynesia and the Pacific Islands will follow, leading guests to New Zealand and Australia. Travellers will then explore Southeast Asia, crossing the Bay of Bengal to Sri Lanka, India, and the Red Sea. Passing through the Suez Canal, the cruise line’s guests will then arrive in the Mediterranean –touring the most enriching destinations throughout the region, before concluding the experience in Lisbon, Portugal, on 27 May, 2026.

This world cruise is aboard Silversea’s Silver Dawn, which debuted in 2022. The 596-passenger ship boasts a Roman baths-inspired spa and wellness area; the renowned S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste) culinary programme; a creative entertainment offering; and the line’s hallmark touches, from butler service to top-shelf cocktails and caviar.

Rich colour is everywhere the eye can see from the roofs of Lisbon in Portugal.

Overland programmes

World cruising guests will also have the option of joining three overland tours during the voyage including Uzbekistan, Egypt and The Balkans.

The first overland programme explores the ancient wonders of the Silk Road in Uzbekistan including bustling bazaars of Tashkent, an historical commercial hub; Samarkand, with its characterful architecture; and the UNESCO-listed historic centre of Bukhara.

For the second overland programme Silversea’s guests can follow in the footsteps of famous navigators, exploring the ancient wonders of Egypt, from the temples of Luxor to the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Valley of the Kings, and the Nubian Village on a luxurious Nile cruise. The final programme in May will journey overland to Belgrade, Serbia’s capital. Guests will learn about the history of Yugoslavia, visiting the Museum of Yugoslav History, St. Sava Temple, and the city of Novi Sad.

“Calling into more destinations than any voyage in Silversea’s history, our World Cruise 2026, ‘The Curious and the Sea’, will connect the most enriching experiences across 70 destinations and six continents,” said Barbara Muckermann, President and CEO, Silversea Cruises. “Appealing to the curious traveller within, we are inviting our guests to experience our planet’s beauty with new eyes, while celebrating the rich history of navigation. ‘The Curious and the Sea’ demonstrates our commitment to unlocking the most immersive travel experiences for our guests, broadening the largest collection of extended voyages in ultra-luxury cruising.”
