Accolade for Dame Cooper

Dame Trelise Cooper is the inaugural New Zealand recipient of the ‘Mercedes Benz Presents’ accolade.

Past recipients of the prestigious honour around the globe include Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, Badgely Mischka and Carla Zampatti.

The Mercedes-Benz Presents global programme recognises designers who demonstrate dedication to the use of quality materials, unique style and innovative design. Dame Cooper has also been a brand ambassador for Mercedes-Benz since 2002.

Cooper’s Mercedes-Benz Presents Trelise Cooper will premiere at New Zealand Fashion Week, of which Mercedes-Benz is also an elite sponsor.

Mercedes-Benz already supports fashion events in 27 countries and is the title sponsor of fashion weeks in New York, Berlin, Sydney and Beijing, and a major sponsor of fashion weeks in Paris, London and Milan.

At New Zealand Fashion Week next month it will be providing the official vehicle fleet for the event.

Salasai New York bound

Since hopping across the ditch New Zealand fashion label Salasai has grown from strength to strength.

For starters the Perth-based brand, which has built a reputation for its unique and beautiful prints, has just launched Salasai Home. A collection of limited edition duvets, pillow cases and cushions imprinted with elements from Salasai’s winter collection Liberte et D’Amour.

Next stop is New York for Salasai designer Kirsha Whitcher following an invitation by Sydney-based Fashion Palette to join Australian designers Alice McCall, Keepsake and Cameo on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week in September as part of a group show.
