As an investor in Clevr Blends, it would make sense for the Duchess to use her star power to bring awareness to the brand. However this latest ‘campaign’ if you will, is just plain awkward.
Markle stars as a ‘geeky intern’ as the beverage brand’s CEO, Hannah Mendoza, gives a “tour” of their headquarters.
Mendoza tours throughout the office, thanking her hardworking team for their efforts in 2023.
She walks past Markle “lovingly packing … lattes” with the “fulfillment crew,” joking, “They’ve been listening to Britney [Spears] on loop since 2002.”
Mendoza subsequently speaks from her desk as the Duchess of Sussex types away on a computer in the background.
“[Here is] our very smart, only slightly nerdy digital team, making sure the website doesn’t crash again like it did last year,” Mendoza adds.
The Clevr co-founder proceeds to walk through the office as Prince Harry’s wife hands her a cup of the brand’s coffee.
“Finally, the glue that literally holds us all together,” Mendoza said. “Our incredible, resilient ops team that have helped make 2023 such a big success.”
A very busy-looking Markle strolls by and attempts to fist-bump an employee while clutching a folder and holding a phone to her ear. When she fumbles the gesture, she laughs and walks off camera. It’s at this point we want to look away, but it’s just so bad we can’t.
The video has been viewed over a quarter of a million times in the first 24 hours. Validating the Duchess’ star power. Other videos on the Clevr Blends Instagram account receive closer to 5,000 views. So maybe the Duchess does still have it?
