The star had been in a coma following last week’s wreck in Los Angeles when she crashed her Mini Cooper into a home, leaving her with major injuries, which included an anoxic brain injury.
Heche’s close friend Nancy Davis, announced her death on Friday (12.08.22) with the Instagram tribute: “Heaven has a new Angel. My loving, kind, fun, endearing and beautiful friend @anneheche went to heaven.
Heche’s ex James Tupper has also broken his silence to pay tribute to the actress, sharing an image of her hugging their son.
He posted a message about the mother of his 13-year-old son Atlas on Instagram alongside the photo, as it emerged the star’s heart is being kept beating to asses her organs for donation after she was declared legally dead.
Heche’s representative Holly Baird said on Friday in an email to the Los Angeles Times: “She was declared brain dead last night but has been kept on life support for organ donation.”
Heche leaves behind two sons, Homer and Atlas.
In a statement Heche’s son, Homer Laffoon, 20, wrote: “My brother Atlas and I lost our Mom. After six days of almost unbelievable emotional swings, I am left with a deep, wordless sadness. Hopefully my mom is free from pain and beginning to explore what I like to imagine as her eternal freedom.”
