A new adaptation of Jane Austen’s Persuasion is hitting Netflix next month, and the first trailer has been released. The Persuasion trailer gives us a glimpse of this stylistic take on the classic novel, which follows a young woman named Anne Elliot who finds her old flame, Frederick Wentworth, crashing back into her life.
Opposite Johnson’s Elliot is Cosmo Jarvis as the beloved Wentworth, and Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians, Last Christmas, The Gentleman) as the dashing Mr Elliot.
The film is directed by British theatre director Carrie Cracknell and written for the screen by Ron Bass and Alice Victoria Winslow.
Persuasion will be released on Netflix on 15 July 2022.
