A new trailer for Marvel Studio’s highly-anticipated Thor: Love and Thunder has landed. Kiwi filmmaker, Taika Waititi returns to direct his second Thor film, starring Chris Hemsworth as the titular god, Christian Bale as a galactic antagonist, Natalie Portman as his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster and Waititi himself returning as the beloved Korg, who narrates the trailer.
According to the synopsis, Thor’s journey sees him retire from his superhero role, but returns after Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher threatens the extinction of the gods.
“To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.”
Thor: Love and Thunder opens in Australian and New Zealand cinemas on 6 July 2022.
