After it’s breakout success in 2021, fans were eagerly awaiting news of whether The White Lotus would return for a second season.
Now, we have our first glimpse of what’s to come in the HBO Max comedy by Mike White, with the release of The White Lotus season two trailer.
This season takes us to stunning new holiday destination on the island of Sicily, as a new group of wealthy guests vacation at the beautiful White Lotus resort. Season two’s cast of holiday-goers includes Aubrey Plaza, Theo James, Will Sharpe, Meghann Fahy and Tom Hollander.
While new season features an all-new cast and story, fans will be happy to see Jennifer Coolidge’s return in The White Lotus season two trailer, with Haley Lu Richardson playing her assistant.
Similar to season one, the plot of The White Lotus season two follows a series of events at the resort over the course of a week. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, White said this season will differ from the last in that it will deal more specifically with its setting. “The kind of mythology of Sicily, at least from the point of view of Americans, is the archetypal sexual politics and role play that you associate with, like, opera and the mafia and Italian romance,” he explains. “I felt like it should be more focused on men and women and relationships and adultery and have an operatic feel to it, so I pivoted.”
The White Lotus season two will be release on 30 October on HBO Max, Neon (NZ) and BINGE (AU).
