Mexican company turns plastic waste into low-cost housing

A pioneering company in the western Mexican state of Jalisco is building houses made entirely of recycled waste plastic collected by trucks on their weekly rounds. The company is making the most of landfill waste by providing inexpensive housing.

Bioplastic – the plastic that’s good enough to eat

Argentine researchers have developed an edible, biodegrable alternative to conventional plastic. Called bio-plastic, the material is made of plant-based starches, which the scientists say, pose no danger to digestive systems or the environment.
