The #DiorStandsWithWomen project comprises a series of short filmed portraits starring women who are leaders in their fields.
Among the women celebrated are actresses, artists, scientists, dancers and top models, with Charlize Theron and Cara Delevingne being the highest profile names.
âWith them, and thanks to them, Dior chooses to celebrate femininity by focusing on courage and self-affirmation,â reads a statement about the campaign.
In Goebelâs film, the dancer talks about what it means to her to be a woman and why itâs âthe best thing in the worldâ.
âIâm constantly in awe of the strength, the resilience, the love, the compassion that we have, the empathy that we have,â she says.
âI feel history hasnât allowed us to shine as bright as we should and I think our time is coming.â
Goebel also talks about body confidence, saying we âshouldnât have to wait for permission or validation to be able to love our bodiesâ.
âI think thatâs how weâve been trained to think in this world,â she says.
âAnd I grew up in that. I grew up being obsessed with music videos but noticed that everyone in the music video was really slim and didnât look like me, so of course I grew up thinking âIâm just not pretty, my body is not beautifulâ.
âAnd I really went through my own journey to realise Iâm unique, Iâm beautiful, Iâm strong; I know that Iâm uniquely made for a reason.â
In each of the videos, the women featured in the campaign âtells us about themselves, about their remarkable journeys, the challenges that formed them, the commitments that guide them and the accomplishments they have made along the wayâ, says Dior’s statement.
The campaign also features Li Bing Bing, Golshifteh Farahani, Pamela Tulizo, Carole Biancalana, Leyna Bloom, Parris Goebel, Paloma Elsesser, Yalitza Aparicio, and Marina Cavazzana.
