Ana de Armas (Knives Out, No Time To Die) transforms into Marilyn Monroe in the first Blonde trailer. The film, directed by Andrew Dominik is based on the bestselling novel by Joyce Carol Oates, a reimagining of the life of the Hollywood icon.
The black and white teaser gives us an idea of the film’s intimate nature, showing two sides of Norma Jeane, both shy and reserved, and dazzling on the stage.
“Andrew’s ambitions were very clear from the start — to present a version of Marilyn Monroe’s life through her lens,” says de Armas. “He wanted the world to experience what it actually felt like to not only be Marilyn, but also Norma Jeane. I found that to be the most daring, unapologetic, and feminist take on her story that I had ever seen.”
Blonde arrives on Netflix on 23 September.
