Waffles with Fast Chocolate Sauce and Berries
Start your weekend on the right note with these light and fluffy chocolate waffles drenched in a fast chocolate sauce.

This Fast Chocolate Sauce has only 4 ingredients, 3 if you don’t use the brandy. Toasted store bought waffles, topped with vanilla ice-cream and fresh raspberries and blueberries and drizzled with warm chocolate sauce. Hands up for dessert.

Waffles with Fast Chocolate Sauce and Berries

Serves 4

8 fresh waffles

vanilla ice-cream, to serve

fresh raspberries and  blueberries, to serve

Chocolate Sauce

200g dark chocolate, coarsely chopped

1 cup pouring cream

¼ cup dark brown sugar

1 tbsp brandy

Method:

To make chocolate sauce, combine chocolate, cream and sugar in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth.

Bring to a simmer. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until sauce thickens. Remove from heat. Add brandy and stir to combine.

Toast waffles and place on serving plates. Top with ice-cream and fresh berries. Drizzle with chocolate sauce and serve immediately.
