The Old Grogram
Sydney's Lobo Plantation has recently released the ultimate rum bible, locally known as Lobo's Rum Journal. Taking inspiration from the bar's namesake and Cuban explorer, Julio Lobo, the beautiful diary features an extensive rum list from Belize to Germany, explaining everything from the aging process to the tastiest serving suggestions. Unleash your inner explorer with the Lobo Plantation Rum Flights, showcasing rums you are familiar with as well as some unexpected surprises.

The Old Grogram – Lobo’s delicious twist on the old navy grogs of the past.

45ml of El Dorado 5yo spiced rum
30ml of Lobo’s housemade stout vermouth (made by taking a stout beer and reducing it down and adding in our own secret spices until its like a vermouth)
15ml sugar syrup
15ml fresh lemon juice

Take a shaker tin, add all the above ingredients, add ice, shake vigorously.

Pour over large fresh cubed ice in a nice large tumbler.

Garnish – fresh lemon rind and one cinnamon quill

Squeeze lemon rind over the top of the drink and then flame the cinnamon quill and place on top of drink.

The end result is a delicious rich and complex, but balanced, drink that is almost impossible to put down!
