This irresistible Sweet Garlic Chicken is ready in just 20 minutes. Serve Sweet Garlic Chicken over freshly steamed sticky white rice with your favourite vegetable sides.
Sweet Garlic Chicken Recipe
Serves 2

Cooking time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
350g (12oz) skin-on, boneless chicken thighs
1 tbsp oyster sauce
60g (½ cup) cornflour (cornstarch)
4 tbsp vegetable oil
For the sauce
2 tbsp butter
1 garlic bulb, peeled and roughly chopped
3 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp mirin
90g (¼ cup) honey
Method:
Place the chicken thighs in a bowl, add the oyster sauce and massage it into the chicken. Now dredge the chicken in the cornflour and shake off the excess. Place a wok over a medium heat, add the oil and fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked all the way through, remembering to turn it frequently for even cooking.
Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the wok, add the butter, then gently fry the garlic, stirring frequently as it can burn easily. Once the garlic has turned a light golden brown, add the soy sauce, mirin and honey. Once hot, add the chicken and cook for a further 1–2 minutes.
Cut the chicken into bite-sized slices and serve over freshly steamed sticky white rice with your favourite vegetable sides.
