Sweet and Sour Strawberry Lemonade Recipe
Makes about 1.5 litres
Ingredients:
150g caster sugar
2 lemons, zest and juice
300g strawberries, plus extra sliced to serve
Ice cubes
Fresh mint leaves, to serve
Method:
To make a sugar syrup, in a saucepan boil 800ml of water, with sugar and lemon zest. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Let it cool. Strain the mixture into a jug.
Hull the strawberries and put them in a blender. Add the lemon juice and blend to a smooth purée. Strain the strawberry purée, do not press the solids as this will make the syrup cloudy. Mix the strawberry liquid with the sugar syrup.
Serve lemonade with lots of ice cubes, extra strawberries and mint leaves.
Smart Tip:
Stay cool and refreshed! Use silicone ice cube shapes to make fruity ice cubes. Fill them with fresh fruit, herbs like mint, and water and freeze for a colourful addition to cocktails and mocktails.
