50ml bottle of Grand Marnier or Cointreau

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
5 whole cloves
1 vanilla bean, split
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
4 nashi pears, peeled
1 Place wine, liqueur, water, sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, vanilla bean, orange and lemon into a large, deep saucepan and place over a medium heat.
2 Stir until sugar has dissolved and mixture comes to the boil.
