As the weather gets cooler, a warming hot chocolate is the perfect evening drink. There are so many ways to make hot chocolate. This recipe uses powdered cocoa, but you could easily use a block of chocolate too.

Easy Hot Chocolate Recipe

The easy rule of thumb is:

1 tbsp of cocoa powder for every 1 cup of milk, plus a tsp of sugar for sweetness

Ingredients

3 tbsp cocoa powder

3 cups of whole milk

3 tsp sugar

Mix the cocoa powder and half a cup of water in a medium size pot to create a paste, slowly heat over a medium-high heat.

Once the lumps are removed, add milk and bring to a simmer.

Whisk in sugar in until mixture is smooth and creamy.

Divide hot chocolate amongst four mugs, and top with whipped cream if you feel like it and a dusting of cocoa powder.

Serve with warm chocolate cookies.
