Food doesn't only warm the heart and nourish the soul it can also be a prescription for life, Leesa Oates explains. She also shares a recipe for a flu-banishing tea.

Hippocrates, the father of medicine, said ’Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food’. We all eat, and food can be used not only to nourish but also to heal the body. But little is known about using food as medicine to promote health and wellbeing and treat and prevent disease.

Liza Oates is a PHD Candidate and course coordinator of Food as Medicine at RMIT University she joins us today to discuss this topic, which also features in our August issue of MiNDFOOD magazine:
