My Cousin Rachel

With themes of desire, jealousy and betrayal, My Cousin Rachel, is a romantic dark tale of passion, oozing in drama and mystery.

Based on Daphne du Maurier’s passionate, tragedy-laced novel, author of Rebecca and The Birds, both of which were adapted into Hitchcock films, My Cousin Rachel tells the story of a young Englishman who plots revenge against his cousin’s mysterious, beautiful widow, believing that she is responsible for his cousin’s death. His feelings become complicated, however, when he finds himself falling under the beguiling spell of this femme fatale’s charms.

Written and directed by Roger Michell, best known for British romantic-comedy Notting Hill), two stellar performances from Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz and Sam Claflin, breathe warm air over the formalities of this British period piece. As the mysterious  Weisz guides the handsome Claflin, through a tempest of mistrust and infatuation in a seductively-dark romantic drama that will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

My Cousin Rachel is in cinemas Thursday June 8.
