“Human beings have overrun the world”, David Attenborough makes powerful statement in new documentary

At 93-years-old, Sir David Attenborough will be releasing a powerful new documentary on Netflix.

“This film is my witness statement and my vision for the future,” says Attenborough in the trailer for A Life on Our Planet. “The story of how we came to make this our greatest mistake and how if we act now, we can yet put it right.”

According to the film’s synopsis, A Life on Our Planet follows Attenborough’s six-decade-long career as a naturalist. “Now for the first time he reflects upon both the defining moments of his lifetime as a naturalist and the devastating changes he has seen.”

The film is an “honest, revealing and urgent” message for today’s world and “a powerful first-hand account of humanity’s impact on nature and a message of hope for future generations.”

The film is directed by Alastair Fothergill, Jonnie Hughes and Keith Scholey and will be available on Netflix later this year.
