Good Start Breakfast Club

For 10 years, the Red Cross Good Start Breakfast Club has helped families and schools by serving around 750,000 free breakfasts to 5000 children each year in areas of greatest need. The initiative aims to give local primary-school children in areas of greatest need a nutritious breakfast while also addressing issues around food security in the wider community.

Sanitarium has partnered with Australian Red Cross to run the Good Start Breakfast Club program for the past 10 years, and have invested $2 million in funding and in-kind support. Michelle Reid, Sanitarium’s Accredited Practising Dietitian joins us to discuss the nutritional importance of the first meal fo the day, the significance of the Red Cross breakfast program and shares her top tips for quick and easy brekkie meals for busy families.
