Jewllery notes

Oh Ebony

For serious art lovers, a trip to Miami was once only complete with a trip to Rosa de La Cruz’ Key Biscayne house to view the prodigious collector’s recent acquisitions. But with the opening of a new private gallery housing what is considered one of the most comprehensive collections of work by Latin American masters and emerging artists, de La Cruz has turned her attention to jewellery.

De la Cruz has created an exquisite capsule collection of sculptural rings, cuffs and necklaces inspired by early 20th century bovine wood and gold jewellery; Coco Chanel’s favoured verdure cuffs and the exotic fauna pieces much adored by surrealist Salvador Dali. rosadelacruz.co.uk

Danish Duo

The august Danish jewellery house Georg Jensen has unveiled its latest campaign featuring its timeless fusion line, signature grape rings, and exquisite ‘sautoirs’ on silver chains, with black agate, pearls, aquamarine and rose quartz, draped across the figure of the gorgeous young Danish model Freja Beha.

At just 23, Beha has already charmed the likes of Karl Lagerfeld who considers her a muse, appeared in the coveted Pirelli calendar, is the face of Gucci fragrance, has starred in the TV advertisement directed by David Lynch and appeared in campaigns for Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Valentino. Its little wonder this tomboyish star was recently ranked second on the top 50 female models by models.com.
