Flying Jafflechutes to take on New York

It’s a bird.

It’s a plane..

It’s a… cheese jaffle?

Melbourne’s first “float-down eatery”, Jafflechutes have been delivering hot, toasted jaffles to hungry city folk in laneways via parachute across the Victorian capital since 2013. That’s right – they’re being prepared and flung out the window, strapped to a teeny parachute with a name attached to it.

The toasted sambos are pre-ordered on PayPal for $5-$6, before being caught by customers at an ‘X marks the spot’ location each day.

Brainchild of content manager Adam Grant and promotions producer David McDonald, who came up with the concept over beers (how all good ideas are born), the duo have been crowd-funding in a bid to take the venture overseas. Lucky for them, the campaign reached its $5,000AUD target on Tuesday, meaning the Jafflechute will now take on the Big Apple!

So NYC-sider can expect to see a flying, cheesy jaffle outside a city window near them sometime soon.

Sad you didn’t think of it first?

Us too.
