Your anti-ageing meal guide

Your anti-ageing meal guide
Age well by paying attention to what - and how - you're eating.

Healthy living plays an important role in how we age, and subsequently, how we look. While the ageing process is inevitable, it’s a known fact that what we eat and drink plays a big role in how we age.

Nourishing your body with healthy foods, maintaining an active lifestyle and using powerful skincare products will help you stay as looking and feeling as youthful as possible. Try it for yourself by following the guide below.

Youth

Focusing on the effects of what you are putting into your body is the most important in your 20s and 30s. A wholefoods diet is the best approach during these years. Unprocessed foods help you maintain a decent weight and enhance your capacity for crucial antioxidants and nutrients. Limit your alcohol intake to avoid excess wrinkles and make sure you drink a lot of water to stay hydrated.

Maturity

Following a diet that is rich in good fats, antioxidants and protein will help you stay youthful during your 40s and 50s. Foods high in protein will help your skin stay firm, as well as keep your muscles strong and aid in weight maintenance. To boost the metabolism (which helps with weight loss), increase your intake of green tea. Flax seeds, oily fish an other foods that are rich in Omega-3 will combat the side effects of menopause. As a rule, the following foods are great to eat: melons, berries, pumpkin and chia seeds, salmon, avocado and asparagus.

Every age

A focus on anti-inflammatory foods should be taken throughout your life to slow the ageing process and prevent diseases such as osteoarthritis. Ginger, spinach, berries and turmeric all have strong anti-inflammatory properties. Additionally, make sure you maintain a steady sleeping pattern over the years. Where a lack of sleep creates lines and bags, causes stress and increases food cravings, adequate sleep heals the immune system and restores energy. Aim for 7-9 hours a night.
