World Water Monitoring Day

World Water Monitoring Day
Protect our water this World Water Monitoring Day.

Today marks World Water Monitoring Day, which aims to increase public awareness about water quality and encourage people to test and improve their local water.

Established in 2003 by the United State’s Clean Water Foundation, the initiative has developed into the EarthEcho Water Challenge, a global program running from March to December every year.

The program seeks to provide those in need with crucial water resources, and offers a simple testing kit that anyone can use to check their water quality. The kit examines the clarity, acidity and dissolved oxygen of water samples, which are then shared with other program participants through the organisation’s website.

The data gathered from this process is analysed in the bid to conserve and preserve water around the world.
