Third person dies from COVID-19 in Victoria
A third person has died from COVID-19 in Victoria, bringing Australia’s death toll from the virus to 12.

A man in his 70s has died in hospital in Melbourne.

It comes after two other men in their 70s died in Melbourne overnight.

At a press conference in Thursday afternoon, Victorian Health Minister Jenny Mikakos asked that people stay home amid the coronavirus outbreak.

“I am urging everyone to respect the privacy of the families during this difficult time,’ Mikakos said.

“We all have a role to play in the fight against coronavirus and this means we must all take very seriously the message that we must stay home unless it is absolutely essential to leave your home, you must stay at home at every opportunity.”
