They’ve arrived! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are in Sydney

Prince Harry and his new wife, Meghan Markle have arrived in Sydney for their first official Australian tour.

The Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, arrived at Sydney Airport via a Qantas flight on Monday morning at 7am local time, ahead of their epic international tour as a married couple.

A source from onboard the flight told news.com.au that the couple – who it’s understood were travelling in First Class – appeared to be “in good spirits” and were “excited about coming to Australia.”

There were no royal watchers at Sydney’s Airport to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds. But, there will be plenty of chances for Australians and Kiwi’s to see the newlywed royals in person, between Tuesday 16 and Thursday 1 November

Prince Harry, who was pictured wearing a grey jumper, placed his bag in the boot of their car and gave a thumbs up to onlookers. The Duchess of Sussex was dressed casually for the special occasion, in a black turtle-neck top with a coat featuring maroon lapel and cuff. She smiled at fans, carrying two purple binders.

New South Wales Police cleared roads during peak hour as the royal couple was whisked away. They are reportedly staying at Admiralty House while in Sydney – the Commonwealth residence for the Governor-General in the country.

Large crowds gathered outside the Governor-General’s home in the hopes of glimpsing the young royals.

Their 16-day tour officially begins tomorrow with a welcome at Admiralty House with Governor-General Peter Cosgrove, Lady Cosgrove and Invictus Games representatives. Followed by a Taronga Zoo tour for the opening of a new science and learning institute with NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, two koalas and their joeys.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are believed to be travelling with an entourage of 10 staff members, including press secretaries and a hairdresser.
