The MiNDFOOD guide to books that are guaranteed page-turners
There's nothing quite like a book that has you gripped from cover to cover. Find your next great read with our list of the titles that we couldn't put down.

Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts

An autobiography that beggars belief. Vivid writing about the most extraordinary life of a convict on the run who happened to hide out in New Zealand at one time before landing and staying in India. He offers a rich, colourful and diverse look at India. Perfect for a time where international travel is on hold, as it transports you effortlessly.

Janine Bourke, Account Director

Lanny by Max Porter

I picked up Lanny after getting a recommendation from Mandy Myles (owner of Bookety Book Books). It blew me away and I read it in one weekend. Porter has this stunning ability to completely sweep you up into his imaginative world and really bring his characters alive.

Kathryn Chung, Staff Writer

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

It would be a hard choice between Delia Owen’s breakout novel ‘Where The Crawdads Sing’ and ‘The Tea Rose’ by Jennifer Donnelly. I think of them both often.

Lillian McHugh, Integration Director

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

I bought this book overseas and I couldn’t put it down throughout my travels, which made the holiday even more enjoyable. If you saw the recent film adaptation, don’t be put off – the book is so much better! It’s not for everyone – the book very much divided critics – but if you’re after a story that will have you hooked, I highly recommend it.
