Highlighting the importance of education and mental health, the couple visited the Islamabad Model College for Girls in the capital. The visit was designed to champion the importance of quality education, and highlight how girls benefit from pursuing higher education and professional careers.
The couple visited classrooms and stopped to pose with local young students for photos. William was told the girls were ‘big fans of your mother’. His warm response: ‘You were, really? Oh that’s very sweet of you. I was a big fan of my mother too. She came here three times. I was very small.’
Kate has honoured the traditional dress so far in Pakistan, as inspired by Princess Diana. Today she wore a traditional blue kurta and scarf by local designer Maheen Khan, while William opted for a casual shirt and trousers to stay cool in the Pakistan heat.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived last night in Pakistan. See all the photos here.
