Who doesn’t love a sneak peak from ‘The Crown’?

We’ve been treated by Netflix to the first images of Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West as Princess Diana and Prince Charles respectively in the next season of the hit period drama.

Australian actress Debicki is taking over the role of the late Princess from Emma Corrin for season five and is expected to continue to role in season six.

“Princess Diana’s spirit, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many,” Debicki said in a statement.

“It is my true privilege and honour to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one.”

It comes after the streaming service also shared an image of Imelda Staunton in character as the Queen. She’ll be taking over from Olivia Colman in season five.

Other cast members include Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret and Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip.

Season five of the series will likely continue to track the breakdown of Charles’ relationship with Princess Diana and his affair with first love, Camilla Parker-Bowles, before his divorce.

The pandemic interrupted filming, so the next season isn’t due to be released until 2022.
