We've rounded up the best new skincare to add to your routine this month.

Wanting to get your skin luminous and flawless for summer? Our beauty editor has rounded up the best new skincare to try this month.

The Luxury Must-Have

Tom Ford has already amassed a cult-like following within the beauty world thanks to his inimitable fragrances and luxurious make-up offerings. Now Ford is set to change the skincare game, launching his own science-driven line: Tom Ford Research. To formulate the range, Ford teamed with Estée Lauder to assemble his own team of top scientists to create a line that blends cutting-edge skincare science with luxury. The first two products, which will launch the collection – Tom Ford Research Serum Concentrate ($500) and Crème Concentrate ($600) – have been three years in the making. Both have been formulated with white porcelain cacao, caffeine and gyokuro – a unique variety of Japanese green tea – and are said to support the skin’s natural energy for a more radiant, even-toned, youthful complexion.

The Glow Getter

Our skin changed for the better when Elizabeth Arden launched Retinol Ceramide Capsules Line Erasing Night Serum. And now the beauty house has done it again, this time by combining vitamin C with ceramides to boost skin radiance. Each Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules Radiance Renewal Serum (60 Capsules, $162) capsule has been powered by super-charged vitamin C that works to brighten lacklustre skin, fight pigmentation and protect skin from further damage. And when coupled with ulta-nourishing ceramides, the skin’s barrier is stronger and more resilient than ever before.

The Youth-Restoring Serum

Our lifestyle – from sun exposure, poor sleep and an unhealthy diet – can contribute to premature skin ageing. To combat the unwanted effects that our lifestyle can have on skin, Dermalogica has formulated AGE Smart Phyto-Nature Firming Serum ($290). The clever dual-phase serum is powered with plant-based technology which reawakens skin and safeguards it from further damage. “The Phyto-Nature Firming Serum contains a firming phase powered by Sapphire-bound biomimetic peptides, which help firm skin and reinforce skin defences against your exposome, and a lifting phase powered by modern plant-based technology and ancient botanical wisdom. It works instantly and overtime to firm, lift and revitalise the look of prematurely-ageing skin,” explains says Caroline Parker, Head of Education for Dermalogica New Zealand.

The At-Home Treatment

As we age, one of the changes we often notice with our skin is a decrease in luminosity. That’s because with time our skin’s cell renewal process slows right down resulting in dullness and uneven texture and tone. Fortunately, incorporating a powerful-yet-gentle chemical exfoliator into your routine can speed up the process and give your skin a helping hand. Murad’s new Replenishing Multi-Acid Peel ($145 from Murad.co.nz and Caci nationwide) accelerates the cell renewal process by 33 per cent in just seven days. Unlike other peels that can irritate skin, the clever bi-phase peel features a luminosity-restoring blend of glycolic, lactic, malic, salicylic and tranexamic acids alongside apoptogenic holy basil that helps counteract irritation.

The Life Saver

Unless you’re one of the blessed few that have balanced skin right around the clock, 365 days a year, most of us have moments when our skin does the opposite of what we want it to do. Whether it’s from a change in seasons, stress or long-haul travel, skin can go from being hydrated to dry, irritated and in need of extra attention. Fortunately, Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Intense Reset Concentrate ($145) has been formulated for those moments when you need it the most. Thanks to clever Chronolux S.O.S technology, in just an hour skin irritation is reduced while round-the-clock hydration is delivered to skin and powerful antioxidants boost its ability to fend off external stressors. Think of it as your skin’s new reset button.
