Take a Look Inside Auckland’s Hottest New Hotel

The Ziggy Suite
With a one-of-a-kind accommodation experience on offer, this is one hotel you don't want to miss.

Anyone that has done their fair share of travelling knows that living out of a hotel can be a little bleak. Fortunately, Singapore-based Naumi Hotels is shaking things up in New Zealand with a bold and bespoke approach to accommodation. Naumi has just opened the doors to Naumi Auckland Aiport and it’s just the start of things to come says Gaurang Jhunjhnuwala, CEO of Naumi Hotels Australia and New Zealand.

You can forget all about a pared-back, understated approach to design – Naumi does things very differently.  “Creating a warm sanctuary of comfort with stylish design while showcasing architecture and local artists is our aspiration and we strive to provide passionate, enthusiastic and intuitive hospitality for all our guests,” explains Gaurang Jhunjhnuwala, CEO of Naumi Hotels Australia and New Zealand. The 193 rooms include four Blush suites with everything you always wanted for the perfect escape: ghd straighteners, Dyson hairdryers, yoga mats, and silk robes. “We know that many guests love to indulge in a hotel stay by simply holing up in their room and having some ‘me time’ so adding in these aspects, glossy magazines and beautiful art – and an awesome in-room dining menu – make the ultimate ‘night in’ just perfect!” says Jhunjhnuwala.

There are also two designer-inspired suites: Ziggy and Dottie which were created in collaboration with Auckland-based Material creative. “Their vision really brought to life the look and feel of designers we admire in a luxurious, immersive and fun way. Bespoke artworks from local artists add a Kiwi flair to the suites,” says Jhunjhnuwala.

Inspired by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, Jhunjhnuwala describes the suite as a whimsical blend of colour, shape and texture (take in peek inside in the gallery below). Every aspect of the Dottie Suite, from the bar to the lounge, bedroom and bathroom is created to plunge you into an energising and playful environment,” says Jhunjhnuwala. While equally bright and enchanting, the Ziggy Suite is inspired by chevron and striped Missoni design. “The neon orange lit bar, pool table, outdoor dining area, and original vintage artwork add another dimension to the Suite and transform an ordinary hotel stay into something extra special.”

Other sought-after facilities include an outdoor pool, TechnoGym exercise studio, yoga deck, putting green, sumptuous lounge areas and tranquil gardens.

Wellington-bound travellers will be next to enjoy the vibrant take on accommodation with New Zealand’s second Naumi hotel set to open by the end of the year. “It’s right in the heart of Cuba Street and will really capture the creative, arty, cool vibe of the city,” says Jhunjhnuwala. And it’s a matter of watch this space for the South Island. “We’ve also got our feelers out for possible locations in Christchurch and Queenstown.”
