Six Magical Winter Spots To Help Beat Mondayitis
When winter is upon us, we're very tempted to retreat to our homes for cosy nights in or escape to sun-splashed cities and seaside locations.

However, there are some cities around the world that look their finest in the wintery months. Here are five of our favourites:

Tallinn, Estonia

The magic of an Estonia winter attracts crowds of admirers from the locals and international alike. During this time of the year, you’ll find Tallinn Old Town at its most charming due to its spectacle of frozen waterfalls, the coastline and sea, and the town’s snow-covered forests and national parks. The daylight hours tend to be brief, which is perfect for those looking for a romantic wintery night in lit up, medieval surroundings.

Queenstown, New Zealand

Nestled alongside the pristine waters of Lake Wakatipu and surrounded by snowcapped mountains, Queenstown is the perfect winter holiday destination. Boasting a welcoming, vibrant energy that makes Queenstown such a unique escape, in winter, the region itself transforms into a frosty wonderland. Attracting snow sports enthusiasts from around the world with its alpine scenery and crisp blue-sky days, it’s easy to access some of New Zealand’s finest ski and snowboard terrain throughout its cooler months.

Tromso, Norway

It’s no surprise that Tromso, Norway, is known as there capital of the Arctic. Whilst it’s widely regarded as Norway’s most beautiful city (and is a base for spotting the northern lights), the stunning fjords and Lyngen Alps makes it an excellent choice for a winter getaway.

Milan, Italy

The romance, the architecture, the food – oh my! Italy serves up an incredible array of history and cuisine, and the capital, Milan, is of no exception. Skip the overcrowded summer months and explore this incredibly history city during its serene and beautiful winter season. If snow is what you’re after, the city’s close proximity to the Alps, is a short drive away. Bundle up and hit Livigno, for memories that will last much longer than the chillier months.

Montreal, Canada

Winter in Montreal is nothing short of enchanting for guests. And whilst many locals dread the cooler, shorter days, the city itself is plentiful of seasonal sports, winter-themed cuisine and assorted comforts such as ice skating to inner tubing, mulled wine and La Raclette (a Swiss cheese snack melted over potatoes).

 Aspen, USA

Winter is the renowned season for Aspen. Whilst skiing and snowboarding on these world-class slopes should be on everyone’s bucket list, many arts and culture institutions have incredible winter programming also. Apres ski is a must when vacationing in an alpine village, along with indulging in every, single culinary delight on offer. Even if you don’t ski, there’s plenty to be enjoyed which includes ice-skating, cross-country skiing, dog sledding, hot air ballooning and more.
