Service station worker leaves $6 million to hospital and library in small hometown.
In yet another heartwarmingly random act of kindness, a Vermont local has left his well-earned savings to the local hospital and library, stunning family and friends.

In yet another random act of kindness, a man has passed away, leaving his entire $6 million estate to charity.

The man, Ronald Read, was born in 1921 and grew up in a small house in Dummerston. He was the first in his family to graduate high school and as a returning World War II veteran, worked at JC Penney after retiring from his job in a service station.

The frugal saver managed to keep his wealth hidden from all family and friends that, according to his attorney, he’d managed to save with the help of stock investments that grew substantially throughout his life.

When he died in June last year, his estate included a $5000 Toyota Yaris and not much else, until family members were read his will.

The secret millionaire had allocated $1.2 million to The Brooks Memorial Library and $4.8 million to the nonprofit Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, both in Vermont, America.

The court system has just approved the distribution of his wealth to his chosen institutions.
