Princess Mary tests positive for COVID-19

Princess Mary tests positive for COVID-19
Denmark’s Princess Mary has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Australian-born royal is isolating in a wing of the Palace at Amalienborg in Copenhagen.

No other members of the royal family have tested positive, according to a statement from the royal court.

“In connection with the test result, the Royal House of Denmark is receiving advice from the Danish Patient Safety Authority concerning detection of infection,” the statement read.

“The Crown Princess will remain in isolation until it is once again safe to end the isolation according to the applicable guidelines.”

It comes after Denmark recorded its highest ever daily case number of Tuesday, with 8314 infections.

It’s more than double the country’s last daily case record, which was 4034 last December.

Denmark has announced extra restrictions to battle the surging case numbers caused by the Omicron variant.
