Prince William and wife Kate are expecting their second child, Buckingham Palace has announced.

“The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news that their royal highnesses are expecting their second child,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement released today.

Prince William, the second heir in line to the British throne, and his wife the Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their first baby, Prince George in July last year – sending the international media into a frenzy.

The royal couple were married on April 29th 2011. Prince George is third in line to the British throne.

Unfortunately, as with her first pregnancy for son George, now 1, Kate is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum , a condition characterized by very acute morning sickness officials said

There was no detail of when the baby was due but speculation is that the Duchess would be at least 3 or 4 months along before the royal announcement would be made. That would mean the royal baby would be expected as early as February or March 2015.

“Many congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. I’m delighted by the happy news that they’re expecting another baby,” British Prime Minister David Cameron said on his Twitter feed.
