Prince Harry has officially begun his 15 day tour of the Caribbean, representing Queen Elizabeth on a royal visit.
The Prince received a royal welcome in Antigua on Sunday, where he was greeted by a military band. The Prince formally inspected a guard of honour during a military parade before attending a reception hosted by the Governor General Sir Rodney Williams.
Tourism Minister for Antigua and Barbuda, Ascot Michael, reminisced how the Prince, along with his brother Prince William, would visit Barbuda for holidays with their late mother, Princess Diana. “We are truly pleased to welcome you back to a place of childhood memories, your home in the Caribbean,” he said.
After the ceremonial welcome, the Prince met with young people at a youth sports festival in Antigua.

The Prince’s visit coincides with celebrations of 35 years of independence for Antigua and Barbuda. To mark the occasion, the Prince read a letter from the Queen congratulating the nation on their achievements.
The Prince will be touring six countries as part of the royal tour, including Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines.
