Prince Harry and world-renowned primatologist and conservationist Jane Goodall met on Tuesday for a conservation conference and greeted each other in an unorthodox fashion.

Prince Harry greeted animals rights activist Dr Jane Goodall with a “chimp greeting” at a Roots & Shoots Global Leadership Meeting in London.

The Duke of Sussex greeted Goodall by bending down and patting her on the head before the two hugged.

When the pair had first met last year, Goodall had taught Prince Harry how a male and female chimp first greet each other. And to loud laughter, the pair re-created it on Tuesday as Harry met young leaders from around the world who are working with on Goodall’s leadership project.

“A couple of captured moments between The Duke of Sussex and Dr. Jane Goodall at today’s event. The pair share an impromptu dance and ‘Chimpanzee Greeting’ which Jane taught The Duke when they first met. Today’s event was full of education, inspiration and fun. Because working hard and playing hard are not mutually exclusive,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Instagram said in a post.

The duke, who often participates in conservation efforts, attended a Tuesday meeting and listened to presentations on endangered species and reducing plastic waste before greeting the students.

“Today, The Duke of Sussex met with young people doing ground-breaking work in their communities as part of Dr. Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Global Leadership gathering.

“Started in 1991 by world-renowned ethologist and primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall, with just 12 high school students in Tanzania, Roots & Shoots brings together young people from around the world who are leading projects in their communities to make the world a better place for people, animals and the environment,” a post on the SussexRoyal Instagram read.

Goodall also revealed that she stopped by Frogmore Cottage last month to see Prince Harry ahead of Tuesday’s meeting, and even snuck in a cuddle session with baby Archie.

“He’s very cute and very gentle,” Dr. Goodall told reporters on Tuesday.

Meghan Markle also met Dr. Goodall during the visit, and the Duchess of Sussex revealed herself to be a big fan.

“She told me she’s followed me all her life. She told me, ‘You’ve been my idol since I was a child. I’ve hero-worshipped you all my life,’” Goodall said.
