New Research Reveals The Health Benefits of Papaya
A new report has outlined the many health benefits of papaya. Discover four reasons you should add this tasty tropical fruit to your diet.

A new report by Papaya Australia outlines the many health benefits of these fresh and tasty fruits. Known for their vibrant, tropical flavour, papaya are incredibly diverse and can be used in both sweet or savoury dishes. Here are four reasons to add papaya to your diet today.

A healthy gut: papaya contain powerful antioxidants including vitamin C and A, zeaxanthin, lutein and beta-carotene. This strengthens and supports the immune system and enhances the health of the gut microbiome. “One serving (150g) provides a healthy dose of folate, fibre, vitamin C and vitamin A, which helps keep your immune system, gut health and skin in-check,” explains accredited practising dietitian, Caitlin Reid.

Glowing skin: the antioxidants present in papaya promote healthy, radiant skin. Vitamin C enhances collagen production, which improves elasticity. 90% water, papaya also ensures the skin remains hydrated.

Good digestion: with a high fibre content, papaya promotes healthy digestion. Just one serving of papaya provides nearly three times the amount of fibre as half a cup of cooked brown rice.

Beating hunger pangs: low in kilojoules, high in fibre and with a moderate glycaemic level, papaya help you feel full for longer. This makes it a great snack if you are trying to watch your weight.
