Obama picks Beyonce to sing at Inauguration
President Obama has chosen Beyoncé Knowles to sing the national anthem at his inauguration ceremony later this month.

The Crazy In Love singer has performed at the White House on many previous occasions, she and husband Jay-Z being devout followers of the president’s, and also major donors to his recent re-election campaign.

Knowles first serenaded the First Couple at the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball, singing Etta James’ At Last. She is also scheduled to sing at the Super Bowl on February 3.

Obama also picked country pop crooner Kelly Clarkson to sing My Country, ‘Tis of Thee at the inauguration. Clarkson made headlines back in October for her very public support of Obama, calling herself a “republican at heart.”

Jazz singer James Taylor will sing America the Beautiful after having wowed guests at the Democratic Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina in August.

Knowles’ rendition of The Star Spangled Banner will follow-up Aretha Franklin, who sung at the 2009 inauguration, famously dressed in a hat with a giant rhinestoned bow.
