New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW) 2018 is armed with a star-studded lineup. Some big names and exciting new additions have been announced, as part of the trade week schedule.
There’s something very exciting about getting a bunch of New Zealand’s fashion best and bringing them all together for one week of magnificent showcases. New Zealand Fashion Week consistently presents a plethora of talented fashionistas, this year being no exception.
Turet Knuefermann was announced last week as the ‘Mercedes-Benz Presents Designer’ for 2018, joining a distinguished group of local designers to receive this esteemed accolade. This prestigious award means the designer gets to open the week, kicking off the series of shows.
Local fashion royalty, Trelise Cooper, is set to deliver yet another extravaganza, presenting two back to back on-site shows, while longstanding NZFW alumni Hailwood joins the schedule, in addition to leading footwear label Kathryn Wilson, which coincidentally celebrates the amazing milestone of 15 years in business this year. Reaffirming its role as a launching pad for new brands, NZFW will host the global launch of the Edmund Hillary Collection – a new clothing label from the Hillary family.
And to close the celebrations the well-loved streetwear label, Huffer, will present another signature off-site show. In other exciting off-site news, NZFW’s schedule will include a series of exciting off-site activations over the course of the week featuring leading brands like Georgia Alice.
The full line up of trade week designers will be announced in the coming weeks, but with such a stellar list of names already confirmed – NZFW 2018 will certainly be one of the best yet.
