Museum dedicated to hangovers opens in Croatia
It’s not often we feel compelled to dwell on a horrific hangover - but the opening of a new museum in Croatia will allow you to do just that.

The Museum of Hangovers in Zagreb has opened its doors, welcoming wine lovers from far and wide to reflect on the nightmarish morning-after.

It was founded by a university student who came up with the idea after swapping stories with friends of eventful alcohol-filled evenings.

The museum contains objects that people woke up having collected without knowing where they picked them up during drunken escapades, and stories from boozy evenings and the following hideous hangovers.

It’s laid out like a stumble home from a night out, featuring rooms resembling a street, storefronts, a park, and then ending with a bedroom where the morning-after begins.

Visitors start the journey wearing goggles that simulate inebriation, and then undertake a reflex test. They have the chance to earn free admission by throwing a dart and scoring a bullseye.

They can also share their own stories of alcohol-fuelled hijinks. Those who can’t physically make it to the museum can still share their experiences with it online using the museum’s website.

The gift shop offers guests the chance to buy drinking board games and bar activities such as “Drinkopoly” and darts, or even “Hangover Wine”.

The museum has attracted criticism for not taking the dangers of drinking seriously, to which the founders have said they hope to grow the museum to include warnings of the risks.

They plan to create a “dark room” containing facts about the problems caused by drinking and abusing alcohol.
