Michelle Obama drops rap album to fight obesity
'Veggie Luv' and 'You R What U Eat' are just some of the songs you'll find on Michelle Obama’s new rap album.

The First Lady has just scored herself a few more cool points in our books, adding ‘rap album’ to her ever-bourgeoning CV. And with catchy tunes like Veggie Luv and Hip Hop L.E.A.N (Learning Exercise and Nutrition in Schools), you’ll be hard-pressed not getting jiggy with her.

It’s a part of her Let’s Move Campaign to fight childhood obesity, and has prompted Mrs. Obama to call on her superstar pals (Jordin Sparks, Doug E. Fresh, DMC and Travis Barker) to release a record that she hopes will resonate with young America, the same way Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ Empire State of Mind rings in our ears whenever we think about the Big Apple, or when a heat wave has us clamming up and crumping to Nelly’s Hot in Herre.

Music speaks louder than words, the First Lady believes, so she’s partnered up with Hip Hop Public Health (yes, this exists) and the Partnership for a Healthier America to drop beats about vegetables.

You won’t hear any rhyming from Michelle on Songs For A Healthier America, but Mrs Obama will be making a number of cameos in the 10 official music videos that will accompany the tracks and be distributed in schools across the US. And that’s ‘dope’ enough for us.
