The 2017 Melbourne Comedy Festival line up has been announced

First launched by Australian great, Barry Humphries and the late Peter Cook in 1987 with 56 shows across 33 venues, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival has become Australia’s national comedy festival and one of the biggest in the world.

From 29 March to 23 April 2017, punters from across the nation will flock to Melbourne for almost four weeks to see more than 550 shows performed in more than 100 venues. This will total more than 7,000 performances throughout the Festival!

International Festival debutants in 2017 include James Veitch, Richard Gadd, Liza Treygar and Kieran Hodgson. Much loved international artists to appear include Ruby Wax, Jason Byrne, David O’Doherty, Stephen K Amos, Josie Long and Arj Barker, just to name a few. The event will also bring out the best in local talent, with Australian artists including Lawrence Mooney, Judith Lucy, Denise Scott, Rove, Charlie Pickering, Hannah Gadsby all joining a talented line up.

The Gala, proudly supporting Oxfam is now sold out with some tickets to the Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow still available.
