The world went mad for Meghan Markle in 2018.
Meghan Markle has picked up a new accolade as she became the most Googled person this year after the former actress had an extraordinary 2018 during which she married Prince Harry and announced she was pregnant with her first child.
Google revealed Wednesday that the Duchess of Sussex was its top trending topic worldwide over the last year for “people” in the U.K.
The top trending search and news term worldwide was “World Cup” – referring to the FIFA soccer competition hosted over the summer in Russia.
Even though the new royal captured headlines year-round in the U.K., according to Google’s new Year in Search data, Markle was only the second most-searched person in the U.S. She was bested by Demi Lovato.
